20 Photos of... Heaton Park Tramway

Following on from the news that funding has been awarded to upgrade the substation at the Heaton Park Tramway to allow it to reopen later this year for the first since September 2024, we take a look back at views of the tramway in operation over the years. This is a completely random selection of images showing many of the trams which have run in more recent years and also features some of the special events which have taken place.

Trams featured include local trams Manchester 765 and Stockport 5 whilst fellow Heaton Park residents Blackpool 619, Blackpool 623 and Hull 96 are also seen. We also see a couple of visitors in the shape of Blackpool pair Marton 31 and Open Top Balloon 706 as well as static exhibits such as Manchester 173 and Blackpool 702.

Hopefully many of the scenes we take a look at will be able to be repeated in the future once things start running once again.
