Beamish Festival of Transport - 29th & 30th May 2026

The last full week of May 2026 saw Beamish hold a nine-day long special event - the Festival of Transport. This started off over the Bank Holiday weekend with the "Fares! Please" event which saw a large number of buses in operation around the museum before concluding over the second weekend with "Power from the Past". The last weekend saw transport of all shapes and sizes, and various forms of power, entertaining the crowds of visitors who attended.

This collection concentrates on the second weekend, and unsurpisingly considering this is British Trams Online has a focus on the trams in operation. Over the course of the weekend just three trams ran in service (this being the total size of the current operating fleet) with Blackpool 31, Oporto 196 and Sheffield 264 all making appearances. As well as the trams we also take a look at some of the other transport seen around the museum.
