Luas - April 2026

In this collection we head across the Irish Sea for a selection of views taken on Dublin's Luas system over several days in late April 2026.

Today's Luas system runs for just over 26 miles on standard gauge with two lines - the Green line (opened 30th June 2004) and the Red line (opened 26th September 2004). Both lines have been extended since their original opening date with the Green line now running from Broombridge to Brides Glen, and the Red line from The Point and Connolly to Tallaght and Saggart (this line branches off). The two lines run indepdently of each other with the Red line having a depot at Red Cow and the Green line at Hamilton and Sandyford.

All services are operated by a fleet of Alstom Citadis trams, which have been delivered in various batches. In total there are now 81 trams in Dublin to operate the frequent services over both lines.
