20 Photos of... Open Top Trams

We're off to Manchester for the first time and at the Heaton Park Tramway we see the Eades Reversible technology in use on horse car L53 with its two horses still firmly in position. The Eades Reversible equipment on the tram meant that it could be turned without the need to unhitch the horses at each end of the tramway. This photo was taken on 28th March 2010. L53 can currently be found on display at the Greater Manchester Museum of Transport.
