South Wales Metro - Daylight testing 1st September 2025

Monday 1st September 2025 saw a new phase of testing start with the South Wales Metro tram-trains as the class 398 units started daylight testing from Taffs Well Depot onto the Treherbert line.

The first day saw 398 028 allocated to the test runs, although the two planned runs in the morning were cancelled leaving just a couple of trips up the line in the afternoon.

This collection of images shows 398 028 at various locations on the line as well as a few views at Taffs Well Depot.
