Crich Tramway Village - A Journey Through Time and Light 9th November 2024

The weekend of Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th November saw an extra event added to the calendar at the Crich Tramway Village - "A Journey Through Time and Light". With the museum open between 1200 and 2000 on both days, as darkness fell special lighting effects and illuminated trams took over to provide a spectacular sight not often seen at Crich.

Photos in this collection come from the first day of the event - Saturday 9th November - when six different trams were used in service. This included an illuminated Leeds 399 plus Blackpool 166 and Blackpool 236 with their strings of lights strung from the four corners of the trams. These three were joined by Blackpool 40 and Sheffield 510 before London County Council 1 made its first appearance in public service since Tram Weekend back in September.

As well as the trams in service we also see some static trams on the depot fan and have quick looks in the Workshop where Blackpool 298's restoration continues and the Great Exhibition Hall where additional trams have been moved recently.

* A video of the event from Steven Hughes can also be viewed on YouTube.
