Docklands Light Railway - 6th May 2024

A trip to London's Docklands Light Railway on May Day Bank Holiday Monday in what was probably typical bank holiday weather - heavy rain!

On this visit there were engineering works which meant no trains were operating on the Lewisham line with the Bank-Lewisham and Stratford-Canary Wharf services merged to form a single Bank-Stratford service. This was the only route to utilise three car trains with all other services using two cars. This was a change announced earlier in the year ahead of the introduction of the new trains with the older (and soon to be retired) vehicles starting to become less reliable.

We see a mixture of the older B90, B92 and B2K units as well as the newer B2007 and B2010 trains in service - the first three classes are set to be withdrawn when the new CAF Inneo trains start to enter service, planned to be later this year.
