20 Photos of... Crich Tramathon 2008

This collection of photos goes back to 2008 and features photos from the Tramathon event which was held at the Crich Tramway Village on 8th June 2008. At this time Crich held two main enthusiasts events each year - with Tramathon in June and then Enthusiasts' Day in September.

The main focus of Tramathon was to run as many of the operating fleet as possible and in 2008 this saw 17 trams run at different times during the day. Whilst many of these are familiar to us as being operational today there were a few which have since been withdrawn. The trams which were in action during the event were Blackpool & Fleetwood 2, Chesterfield 7, Glasgow 22, Blackpool 40, Southampton 45, Johannesburg 60, Paisley 68, Sheffield 74, Blackpool 167, Leeds 180, Oporto 273, Leeds 345, Leeds 399, Glasgow 812, Liverpool 869, London Transport 1622 and Berlin 3006. In addition Blackpool 166 undertook a workshop run from the depot down to Town End and then back to the depot.
