2005 saw 162 votes cast as the Trampower prototype won the award. This was the year that it had been on test at Birkenhead, coming several years after it had caught light during its first tests in Blackpool. Its during that first visit to Blackpool that we see it at the front of the depot in 1998 in a plain white livery. Like the first winner this tram is now not serviceable but is stored in Blackpool with the Preston Trampower project seemingly having stalled once more.
