Crich Tramway Village Tram Weekend - 16th & 17th September 2023 |
The annual enthusiasts event at the Crich Tramway Village, home of the National Tramway Museum, was extended to a two day event in 2023 and rechristened Tram Weekend. It may have been under a slightly revised name but it was still what you come to expect from these events at Crich - trams in service, works cars out on the mainline and (the highlight for many) photographic line-ups on the depot fan of trams not currently available for service.
You can read a full report of what went on here but amongst the highlights of the photo line-ups were a celebartion of Oporto 9's 150th birthday (with Oporto 273 joining in), the 125th anniversary of the Blackpool & Fleetwood Tramroad with Rack 2 (itself 125 years old this year) joined in line-ups by fellow Tramroad cars Box 40, Pantograph 167, Brush 630 and recent arrival Centenary 645 and a look ahead to trams set to enter service soon including London County Council 1 and Newcastle 102. Leeds 602 was also on display and some other trams were stabled for photos outside of the depot too. Away from the line-ups and the mainline saw three works cars in action at various times over the weekend and there were nine passenger trams which ran in service too. In this collection we take a look at all of those highlights and much more with photos taken over both days of the weekend. |
