Docklands Light Railway - 1st May 2023

The Docklands Light Railway is about to go through a period of transition with a fleet of CAF Inneo trains having recently started to be delivered. To be known as the B23s these will eventually replace the older trains currently in operation (B90, B92 and B2K) some of which are now over 30 years old. But that's for the future so for this trip on Monday 1st May it was still as you were with the B90, B92 and B2K units running alongside the B2007 and B2009 trains.

With this being a Bank Holiday Monday there was the inevitable engineering works with no trains running from either Poplar or Westferry to Canary Wharf and Lewisham. This meant that services from Bank which usually run to Lewisham were diverted to Stratford (Stratford normally being served by trains from Canary Wharf so this in effect merged the two services), these were the only three car services in use on this day with all other routes being operated by two units coupled together. These services were Bank-Woolwich Arsenal, Woolwich Arsenal-Stratford International, Tower Gateway-Beckton and Beckton-Canning Town.
