Heaton Park Tramway - Blackpool 619 returns to service 26th March 2023

Sunday 26th March was not only the start of another operating season at the Heaton Park Tramway but also marked the official relaunch into service of Blackpool Replica Vanguard 619 following an overhaul and repaint.

The day saw a two tram Blackpool themed tram service with 619 (after speeches) joined by Blackpool Brush 623 in operation. Meanwhile, a third Blackpool tram was on display outside Lakeside Depot - Balloon 702.

To add to the event two buses from the Martin Gurr and Gary Conn collection, representing Blackpool Heritage Tram Tours and Blackpool Transport, visited: Optare Delta 133 and Leyland Atlantean 353. It had been planned that the Fylde Transport Trust's AEC Swift 570 would also visit but this broke down en route.

In this collection we see many of the main events of the day featuring both the trams and the buses, including a line-up of the vehicles outside Lakeside Depot and 619 saying goodbye to the buses at Middleton Road Gates.
