Edinburgh Trams - York Place closes February 2022

Wednesday 9th February 2022 was the end of an era on the Edinburgh Trams system with the stop at York Place closing permanently at the end of the day to allow further work to take place in connection with the Trams to Newhaven project. With the stop set to be replaced by one in Picardy Place as part of this extension and the land where the platform is located needed to lay tracks to connect the two sections together we won't again see trams stopping here to let passengers on or off, although from April 2022 trams will still run here to use the crossover. In this collection we feature the stop in its last few days of operation as trams come and go; we also throw in a few more photos from other parts of the system for good measure! From the following day all trams from the Airport started to terminate at West End, as they will do until April 2022 when St Andrew Square will become a temporary terminus until next year when the full extension will open. Photographers: blackpool_trams, Roy Calderwood, Trevor Hall and John Hampton
Photographs were taken between Thursday 3rd and Thursday 10th February 2022.
