Blackpool Tramway Jubilee Parade - 2nd June 2022 |
On Thursday 2nd June 2022 the Blackpool Tramway got into the spirit of celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with a special Tram Parade taking place. Running from Pleasure Beach to Little Bispham and back to North Pier, in total 13 trams were included making it the largest Parade for a number of years showcasing the best of the heritage tram fleet. Led by Boat 227 the Parade also included Boat 600, Brush 631, Railcoach 680, Centenary 648, Western Train, Trawler, Frigate, Bolton 66, Balloon 717, Balloon 723 (having just been completed in a new coat of 1990s green and cream), Balloon 700 and Rebuilt Balloon 707.
This collection starts off on the Promenade as we see the first trams heading down to Pleasure Beach before we're off to the depot, Manchester Square and Pleasure Beach as the trams assemble and then set off on the tour. We then feature the actual Parade at both the Metropole Hotel and then hot foot it north to Lowther Avenue to see them on their return (with 227 captured at Gynn Square as our photographer wsn't quick enough!). |
