Manchester Metrolink - March 2022

This gallery returns us to the UK's largest modern tram network - Manchester Metrolink. With photos taken over a four day period during the middle of March 2022 we visit all lines of the extensive network to see the M5000s in service. The period under review here saw rail replacement works take place in Manchester City Centre meaning that all trams were diverted via 2CC instead of running via 1CC. This also saw the Ashton-under-Lyne line closed in its entirety from 20th March but we manage to fit that line in before the works began.

Included are many of the newer batch of M5000s including 3136 which only entered service on 19th March so we catch it in its first few days of action. Others of the new batch are also featured as we try and cover as much of the network as possible in one trip!
