Heaton Park Tramway - 40th(+2) Birthday Celebrations April 2022 |
Having been delayed for two years by the pandemic, the Heaton Park Tramway were finally able to celebrate their 40th anniversary on Sunday 3rd April with a special event. Titled "40th(+2)" the day also marked the first operating day of the 2022 season.
All four operational trams ran in passenger service during the day with Manchester 765 and Hull 96 starting things off with a parallel run to Middleton Road Gates which saw 765 posed with the gates opened. Stockport 5 and Blackpool 623 also ran in service during the day whilst Manchester 173, Blackpool Railgrinder 1 and Blackpool 702 were also displayed outside. Inside Middleton Road Depot there was the first chance to see the Wootton Tramway miniature trams which are now part of the Manchester Transport Museum Society collection whilst the museum was open to the public. In this collection we take a look at some of the sights of the day as Heaton Park celebrated in style once more! |
