Notes:
46 new trains are being built by Stadler. The introduction was delayed with the first entering service in December 2024. There will now be a phased introduction, with all due to be in service by the end of 2026. | 555 003 was the first of the class to be delivered to Gosforth Depot, arriving on 28th February 2023. It was transported by rail via the Channel Tunnel, arriving in the UK on 21st February 2023 and then being transported north over several legs, the last of which saw it hauled from Pelaw by four of the original Metrocars. 555 021 was the first of the class to run in passenger service on Wednesday 18th December 2024 when it ran between Pelaw and Monkseaton. |
