Just four days after arriving from Beamish, Newcastle 114 <\/strong>was employed in passenger service for the first time at Crich Tramway Village on Friday 12th September. The tram was used alongside the other two visiting trams which have come to Crich to help celebrate fifty years of the public electric tram service at the museum, these being Blackpool & Fleetwood ‘Box’ 40 <\/strong>and Blackpool ‘B Fleet’ Balloon 711<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The use of the three visiting tramcars on what was dubbed ‘Electric Friday’ acted as a warm-up for the main ‘Electric 50’ event. With 25 different trams due to operate over a two day period, the chance to enjoy the trio on a quieter day was very welcome and hopefully will have encouraged a few extra people to visit on an otherwise normal weekday.<\/p>\n
