Back in the days of the traditional tramway it was an unloading round in Bold Street (where the modern day tram stop platform is) before the tram moved onto the Esplanade to load for its next journey. And its Twin Car 671+681 which is in that position on this day. The tram was one of five Twin Cars which had received mini overhauls and repaints when double deckers were banned from running to Fleetwood. Both parts of the Twin survive to this day but they have been split with the motor owned by the FTT and on display at St Helens whilst the trailer is part of Blackpool’s own fleet and is at Rigby Road.

The modern photo shows Flexity2 008 in more or less the same place on 27th September 2026 as it runs along the Esplanade with a service for Starr Gate.
