{"id":64975,"date":"2026-10-22T20:00:50","date_gmt":"2026-10-22T19:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=64975"},"modified":"2026-10-17T21:45:04","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T20:45:04","slug":"technical-issues-lead-to-reduced-supertram-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=64975","title":{"rendered":"Technical issues lead to reduced Supertram service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A technical issue with the tram location system on Wednesday 14<sup>th<\/sup> October 2026 meant that a reduced service operated on the South Yorkshire Supertram system from mid-morning through until the afternoon of the following day.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The tram location system is used, probably not that surprisingly, by the control room to monitor tram movements across the network and make real-time operational decisions. With it suffering from technical issues it wasn\u2019t possible to run a full service on the network with trams running up to every 24 minutes whilst it was fixed.<\/p>\n<p>The Tram-Train route was running a normal service whilst both the Blue and Yellow routes were running a reduced service.<\/p>\n<p>The issue was resolved from the afternoon of Thursday 15<sup>th<\/sup> October 2026, after which services started to be restored to the normal timetable. In a statement South Yorkshire Supertram said: \u201cWe&#8217;re very sorry for the recent disruption and thank passengers for their patience.
