The latest edition of the LRSSB \u2018Let\u2019s Talk Light Rail\u2019 podcast has been celebrating the success of this campaign with representatives from both Edinburgh Trams and Nottingham Express Transit appearing.<\/p>\n

Sarah Singh, Tram Director at Edinburgh Trams, and Connor Hardy, Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Manager at Nottingham Express Transit, say in the podcast how it has delivered a major boost to tramway safety.\u00a0 They reveal how the messaging continues to influence pedestrian behaviour and how it is significantly reduced the number of reported incidents.<\/p>\n
Carly Swift, LRSSB Marketing and Communications Manager, is the host of the podcast: \u201cRecorded on board a tram at the Wilkinson Street depot in Nottingham, the latest edition of our Let\u2019s Talk Light Rail podcast provides a fascinating insight into the real-world benefits of the campaign. It also provides the opportunity to analyse the results of research into its effectiveness across the UK, which found that up to 70 per cent of people who had spotted the bold \u2018Two Lines = STOP\u2019 graphics had changed their behaviour when close to a tramway.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe conversation then turns to the future of the campaign, the importance of social media and the need to reach out to schools and community groups to ensure the message reaches an even wider audience.\u201d<\/p>\n
The campaign has been particularly noticeable in Nottingham during major events, including Winter Wonderland in Old Market Square, and in Edinburgh it has been effective when targeting students and seasonal visitors to the city.<\/p>\n
