They are also looking at the creation of improved public spaces and proposed residential apartments.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It is planned that the current 1980s facility will become a modern, accessible and welcoming transport hub. It will be delivered in two phases \u2013 the first of which is due to start this autumn with work on a new footbridge and improvements to the tram platforms are due to commence.<\/p>\n<p>TfGM along with Bury Council and Greater Manchester Combined Authority are working to redevelop the interchange. They are encouraging people to help shape the plans for the new interchange which will make it easier to get around using the Bee Network.<\/p>\n<p>Under the proposals \u2013 which will go through another consultation later in the year before final approvals \u2013 the existing site would be redeveloped with plans including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A new interchange building<\/li>\n<li>A reconfigured bus station to improve bus operations and passenger facilities<\/li>\n<li>Upgraded Metrolink platforms with improved access<\/li>\n<li>Improved public spaces, including better walking, wheeling and cycling routes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New residential apartments could also be built between the redeveloped interchange and Casewells, the new flexi hall which is currently under construction at Bury Market.<\/p>\n<p>Chris Barnes, Infrastructure Delivery Director at TfGM, said: \u201c\u201cThe most successful projects are informed by the views of the local community, so we want to hear your feedback to help understand what is important to consider in the redeveloped Bury interchange. Many aspects of the Bury interchange redevelopment design are still being developed and decided.
