Roles include tram drivers, customer experience agents, technicians, engineers and cleaners who all play an important role in delivering a reliable, safe and consistent tram service.<\/p>\n<p>Rebecca Horne, Business Engagement Manager at NET, said: \u201cA career in the light rail industry is incredibly rewarding and provides a whole range of opportunities. It can be really varied too, with no two days the same, and it\u2019s also much more accessible than most people realise. That\u2019s why we\u2019re encouraging as many people as possible to attend our Open Day, as this will be a chance to discover the wide range of career opportunities available within NET.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re proud to have built a workforce of fantastic individuals who not only work hard to make Nottingham\u2019s trams something the city can be proud of, but they have also helped us shape a culture that puts care and consideration for all staff at its centre. Attendees of our upcoming open day will be able to meet a few of those fantastic faces behind the trams, and find out more about what it takes to build a career in the light rail industry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The open day will highlight the diverse range of routes into the light rail industry, demystifying the career pathways available for those entering the industry for the first time.<\/p>\n<p>Tram drivers are one of the operator\u2019 most popular roles and only requires a valid driving licence to apply, with no previous experience necessary. Successful applicants receive full training over a seven-week programme, providing all the skills needed to begin a career in the driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>\n<p>There are also a range of employee benefits available, such as free travel on the trams and a generous employee discount scheme.<\/p>\n<p>Andy Downie, NET Head of Operations and Safety, commented: \u201cI\u2019ve been at NET now for just shy of a year and I\u2019ve loved getting the chance to work within such a welcoming and hard-working team. Over the years, my career journey has seen me work for a range of different employees in a range of different industries, but there really is nothing quite like working in the light rail industry.
