This leaves just the two to enter service!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>555 023<\/strong> was delivered from the Switzerland base of Stadler via a long rail journey on 7<sup>th<\/sup> February 2026. As was the case by then it arrived as part of a trio of trains \u2013 the others to be delivered at the same time were <strong>555 026<\/strong> (entered service 9<sup>th<\/sup> July 2026) and <strong>555 045<\/strong> (entered service 6<sup>th<\/sup> June 2026).<\/p>\n<p>It has taken <strong>555 023<\/strong> seven months from delivery to enter service.<\/p>\n<p>The two remaining units we haven\u2019t had reports of being used in passenger service now are <strong>555 022<\/strong> (delivered 20<sup>th<\/sup> February 2026) and <strong>555 046<\/strong> (delivered 21<sup>st<\/sup> February 2026).<\/p>\n<p>There are a total of 46 of these trains built and delivered to northeast England. The first to be delivered was <strong>555 003<\/strong> on 28<sup>th<\/sup> February 2023 and the first to enter service was <strong>555 021<\/strong> on 18<sup>th<\/sup> December 2024.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>555 023 has become the latest of the new Tyne and Wear Metro trains to enter service with it being noted in service on Tuesday 8th September 2026.
