It may no longer be operating as a tram as such but as a piece of hauled rolling stock but it remains a rare survivor from that tramway \u2013 which ran for the last time in 1927. During recent research into the history of tram no. <strong>11<\/strong> a further artefact has also been found.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Located in the Grampian Transport Museum archives a brass plaque stating \u201cTHE ABERDEEN SUBURBAN TRAMWAYS COMPANY\u201d. It is believed that it was once affixed to a wall at one of the depots.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_64494\" style=\"width: 560px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plaque-wb.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-64494\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-64494\" src=\"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plaque-wb-550x341.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"341\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plaque-wb-550x341.jpg 550w, https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/plaque-wb.jpg 710w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-64494\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">At least 100 years old \u2013 and probably significantly older than that as its hard to believe it would have been cast just before the tramway closed \u2013 this is the plaque discovered in the archives.
