1st<\/sup> September 2026 saw the start of a new era on Dublin\u2019s Luas tram network with KeolisAmey Luas becoming the new operator. This comes after over 20 years of Transdev being the operator having run the network since it opened in 2004.<\/p>\n

The beginning of the new contract comes after months of preparation and collaboration with staff, stakeholders and the outgoing operator to ensure there has been a seamless transition for passengers during the change.<\/p>\n

Tom Joyner, Managing Director of KeolisAmey Luas, said: \u201cThis is an important day for everyone connected with the Luas. We inherit a network with a strong reputation for safety, reliability and customer service, and our priority is to protect and build upon that success.<\/p>\n

Together, we are opening a new chapter for Luas, one that builds on its proud history whilst creating new opportunities for the people and communities it serves.\u201d<\/p>\n

KeolisAmey Luas is a joint venture between Keolis (one of the world’s leading public transport operators) and Amey (a leading global infrastructure consultancy and operations partner). They will use their years of experience to build on the network\u2019s strong foundations while also looking to introduce improvements to enhance reliability, resilience and the overall customer experience.<\/p>\n

Richard Graham, CEO of Keolis Ireland, said: \u201cToday marks an important milestone for Keolis and for public transport in Ireland. Alongside Amey, we are honoured to take on responsibility for operating and maintaining the Luas and to serve the people of Dublin.<\/p>\n
