UKTram are supporting am ambitious charity cycle challenge from Land\u2019s End to John O\u2019Groats by Claire O\u2019Kane and her partner Matt Price. They are riding to raise funds for the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association and aim to cycle the 900 miles in just five days \u2013 usually it takes between 10 and 14 days!<\/p>\n

As part of the challenge Claire and Matt will be visiting tram systems in Edinburgh, Manchester and Blackpool creating an opportunity to celebrate the UK\u2019s light rail networks while raising awareness and vital funds for the MND Association.<\/p>\n
Motor neurone disease is a life-shortening neurological condition that affects the nerves controlling movement, causing progressive muscle weakness that can impact how people walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. The MND Association help people living with the condition and their families to navigate the challenges it brings.<\/p>\n
Claire\u2019s mum, Chrissie, was diagnosed with MND in September 2025. Despite her diagnosis, Chrissie has been determined to make a positive difference for others and has helped to establish Chrissie\u2019s Club, a local support group for people living with MND in Dudley and the surrounding area.<\/p>\n
