You can\u2019t say the public aren\u2019t being consulted about the plans for a Mass Transit system for West Yorkshire as views are now being asked on early plans which outline how the system will contribute to the economic growth and development across the region.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, all five local authorities in West Yorkshire launched a consultation on the plan which will help to ensure there is a co-ordinated approach to land use, growth, regeneration and transport decisions across local boundaries.<\/p>\n
This led to the creation of an early version of a Spatial Development Framework (SDF), which will support the delivery of current and future phases of the Mass Transit programme. He latest consultation will ask people, businesses and developers whether they think this plan is effective and well-prepared.<\/p>\n
West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin said: \u201cIt is so important we get these steps right, as it will demonstrate that all West Yorkshire councils are working together to deliver Mass Transit.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat we need from the public, businesses and developers is to understand if they feel the plans for our framework are sound and reliable.<\/p>\n
\u201cMass Transit is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a better-connected public transport network for West Yorkshire, so we need to ensure everyone is on that journey with us.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Spatial Document Framework consultation will not be asking for views on routes, route alignment or anything like depots and park and ride sites. It is more concerned with how development should be planned around Mass Transit, making sure that it is actually all joined up and working with and not against.<\/p>\n
