{"id":63982,"date":"2026-08-02T11:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-02T10:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=63982"},"modified":"2026-08-02T08:42:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-02T07:42:39","slug":"douglas-bay-horse-tramway-150th-anniversary-day-details-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=63982","title":{"rendered":"Douglas Bay Horse Tramway 150th Anniversary day details announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday 7<sup>th<\/sup> August 2026 is the 150<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the Douglas Bay Horse Tramway and to mark this significant occasion Isle of Man Railway will be celebrating with a special event.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Whilst the best present the tramway could have had has already been given in the news that the re-extension has been given the funding go-ahead, there is still plenty more on the cards to help celebrate this major milestone.<\/p>\n<p>The highlights of the day look set to be two special celebratory cavalcades which will both feature double deck tramcar 18. As if this tram wasn\u2019t special enough, being the only operational double decker on the tramway and having undergone overhaul this year, it is also now known as transporting King Charles III, Lord of Mann, during his visit last month a short distance. Those cavalcades will take place between 1030 and 1130.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be an enhanced timetable in operation throughout the day and plenty of family activities around Strathallan tram depot.
