{"id":63938,"date":"2026-07-31T18:00:29","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T17:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=63938"},"modified":"2026-07-30T19:30:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T18:30:30","slug":"picture-in-time-croydon-tramlink-2549","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=63938","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Croydon Tramlink 2549"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today\u2019s \u201cPicture in Time\u201d has one final image from the red and white years on the Croydon Tramlink system before we move on once again.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This image is taken at Beddington Lane, a stop on the Wimbledon line, as <strong>2549<\/strong> calls with a service which will end up at Wimbledon. <strong>2549<\/strong> is one of the 24 CR4000 trams built for Croydon in 1998\/9, with it arriving in the UK on 19<sup>th<\/sup> April 1999.<\/p>\n<p>The tram may retain its original fleet livery of red and white but has already received the electronic destination displays in place of its original roller blinds.
