{"id":63929,"date":"2026-07-30T18:00:44","date_gmt":"2026-07-30T17:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=63929"},"modified":"2026-07-30T12:55:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-30T11:55:09","slug":"split-tram-service-during-blackpool-airshow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=63929","title":{"rendered":"Split tram service during Blackpool Airshow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Blackpool Airshow returns on Saturday 8<sup>th <\/sup>and Sunday 9<sup>th<\/sup> August and with the Promenade set to be closed to allow people to watch aircraft from across the world in the skies, Blackpool Transport have announced a revised service will be in operation on both the trams and buses.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Promenade is closed to traffic on both days between 1030 and 1900 and during this time trams will run:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Starr Gate to Manchester Square<\/li>\n<li>North Pier\/North Station to Fleetwood<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No trams will be running from either Central Pier or Tower during this period.<\/p>\n<p>Hayley Gregory, Marketing Manager at Blackpool Transport, said: \u201cThroughout the airshow weekend, there will also be\u00a0extra trams between Little Bispham and North Station to provide a 7-minute service.\u00a0Trams will also run between Starr Gate and Manchester Square every 12 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough the promenade will be closed, we\u2019ll also have additional buses on standby to help people get in and out of the town centre at peak times, and our friendly customer advisers will be out in force to offer face-to-face travel advice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith so many people flocking to the seafront for the show, it\u2019s not possible to run a through service, but our trams and buses still offer the best way to get to the heart of the action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>People are also being urged to buy their tickets before boarding the trams.
