The latest special event at the East Anglia Transport Museum was a 1940s Weekend on 18th<\/sup> and 19th<\/sup> July 2026 as they once again pulled out all the stops to entertain the public who paid a visit to the site in Carlton Colville near Lowestoft, Suffolk. Bryan Grint was one of those who visited as seen in these photos.<\/p>\n

As with most special events there was a two-tram service in operation and that saw both Amsterdam 474<\/strong> and London Passenger Transport Board 1858<\/strong> used on the museum tramway. They were joined by an intensive trolleybus service which had a London theme with 260, 796, and 1201 all out of the depots.<\/p>\n

There was also a free bus service around the local area, trade stalls and entertainment on site as there was plenty to see and do once again.<\/p>\n

Second tram of the day was Amsterdam 474 which is seen here as the conductor gets ready for a token exchange.<\/p><\/div>\n

1858 passes the tram depot on its return to Chapel Road.<\/p><\/div>\n

1858 is seen here alongside trolleybus 796 again.<\/p><\/div>\n

Trolleybus 796 comes round the trolleybus turning circle and passes fellow London Transport trolleybus 260 in the stabling area.<\/p><\/div>\n

The trolley of 474 is turned as we see trolleybus 1201 head off with a trip around the trolleybus circuit.<\/p><\/div>\n
