Nottingham Pride will be taking place on Saturday 25th<\/sup> July 2026 and as part of their commitment to the city\u2019s LGBTQ+ community, Nottingham Express Transit have announced a revised service running on the day as well as unveiling their Pride Tram for this year.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Between approximately 1120 and 1430 on Saturday 25th<\/sup> July 2026 there will be no trams running between Nottingham Station and Royal Centre to allow the Pride march to take place. Trams will continue to run from Royal Centre to Hucknall and Phoenix Park, and from Nottingham Station to Toton Lane and Clifton South whilst the stops at Lace Market and Old Market Square will be closed. There will be no alternative travel options due to road closures.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, to show their support to the LGTBQ+ community Nottingham Express Transit have wrapped Incentro 206 in a special Pride livery ahead of the event. Featuring a central full height section and vinyls above the windows this livery includes the familiar rainbow colours and will add a splash of colour to the network.<\/p>\n

Shaun Kenneth, Service Delivery and Security Manager at NET, said: \u201cThis day is important for so many people in Nottingham, as well as many people who will be visiting our city to celebrate community and inclusion. Our temporary tram stop closures are an essential way for us to help keep people safe during a really busy day, and we’d like to thank the public for their patience and helping us to make this a great event for the city.”<\/p>\n

NET\u2019s support goes beyond just one month though with recognition and representation of the many LGBTQ+ NET team members including driver Charlotte, aged 60, who has recently transitioned.<\/p>\n

Charlotte said: \u201cI felt confident coming out at NET as the message of integrity, inclusion and diversity internally is so strong. After previously working in different places where this wasn’t the case, now felt like the perfect time and it felt so liberating.<\/p>\n

“Being able to now do the job I love and drive passengers as my true self is just wonderful. Small moments such as getting my new uniform together and hearing my name ‘Charlotte’ being announced in the depot to call me up to work was amazing and gave me that extra affirmation, after carrying the burden of being two people for so long.<\/p>\n

“NET have been on board and part of my journey since day one. My philosophy has always been about openness and educating people, helping to pave the way for others in the company too and helping them feel confident.”<\/p>\n

Rebecca Horne, Business Engagement Manager at NET, said: \u201cWe always want people to ‘ride with Pride’ all year round, but with our rainbow tram we’re making it official and visible during an important time of year for the community.<\/p>\n

“It’s brilliant to hear Charlotte’s story and her journey with us at NET, and her experience is exactly what we hope to achieve through our open and accepting culture. We always strive to make Nottingham’s trams a safe space for all our customers, as well as our staff, and this is something we’re proud of.”<\/p>\n
