Now don\u2019t get too excited and think the headline of this article means you will all be able to enjoy a ride on Gateshead 10<\/strong> again in the immediate future but Monday 22nd<\/sup> June 2026 saw the tram make an appearance outside of the tram depot as its overhaul continues. The move out of the depot was necessary as work was being undertaken in the building.<\/p>\n

As most reading this will undoubtedly know, Gateshead 10<\/strong> is currently undergoing an extensive overhaul which will see it ultimately return to the operating pool of trams at Beamish. It has been out of service since 2013 \u2013 at which time it was in its Grimsby and Immingham identity of no. 26<\/strong> \u2013 and for the past decade has been enjoying a lot of care and attention.<\/p>\n

10<\/strong> is now edging towards the start of testing \u2013 and the hope that it may be able to return to service at some point in 2026 \u2013 and recently moved roads in the depot under its own power. That would have seen the tram outside, albeit briefly, but this move out on 22nd<\/sup> June was a far longer time out.<\/p>\n

At the same time of 10<\/strong> being extracted from the depot Sunderland 16<\/strong> was also shunted outside. This is another tram which is currently unavailable for service.<\/p>\n

The stunning repainted Gateshead 10 sits outside the depot. Further signwriting will follow before the tram is fully commissioned.<\/p><\/div>\n

As 10 continues to wait before it can go back into the depot, Sheffield 264 passes by on the tramway circuit beyond.<\/p><\/div>\n
