Replacing much of the functionality of the former Nexus website it is planned that the new site will make it easier for people to get travel information and plan their journeys, all in one place.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Kim McGuiness said: \u201cLocal people in the\u00a0North East\u00a0deserve nothing less than an affordable world-class integrated public transport network \u2013 one that gives access to real opportunity.\u00a0To have that access, people need a simple, easy to use tool to help them plan their journeys to get to those opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis new website\u00a0offers\u00a0one\u00a0central\u00a0place\u00a0for\u00a0journey\u00a0information and\u00a0to\u00a0find\u00a0support, making lives easier for people, especially those that travel day in, day out\u00a0across our region.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is the first time that essential information on bus, Metro, Shields Ferry and local rail services will be available in one single online hub for the whole region.<\/p>\n<p>The site has been designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate and has considered feedback from the Nexus Insight Panel. It is also fully responsive to smartphones.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time Nexus have also launched a new corporate website.<\/p>\n<p>Cathy Massarella, Managing Director of Nexus, said: \u201cWe\u2019re\u00a0also\u00a0really excited to be unveiling a completely revamped corporate Nexus website\u00a0this week. This website provides an overview of who we are, project updates, latest news and how we are performing, as well as information on opportunities to work with us or for us.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the biggest change to our online site\u00a0in 15 years.
