We report on both units going for scrap and trains entering service as has often been the case.

We start off this update by looking at the latest two Stadler trains which have entered service over the past month or so. The first to enter service was 555 042 on 24th May and then that was followed a couple of weeks later on 6th June by 555 045.

555 042 had been delivered along with 555 033 (already in service) and 555 044 (yet to enter service) on 5th December 2025. 555 045 was an arrival on 6th February 2025 with 555 023 and 555 026 also coming at the same time, neither of which have been used yet.

That makes it 37 out of 46 which have been used in service: 555 001–555 021, 555 027, 555 028, 555 030–555 041, 555 042 and 555 045.

Meanwhile, the first scrappings since April 2026 have taken place. There was a disruption to the Metrocars heading off to be scrapped after the company who were moving them by road went into administration. But with Railway Support Services now contracted for the moves two departed on consecutive days.

4069 was the first to go on 3rd June and then it was followed by 4065 on 4th June.
