It was originally an open top double decker before receiving a top cover within the first ten years of its life, but retained open balconies. It remained in service until 1929 and following withdrawal was sold on for further use.<\/p>\n<p>This further use saw both decks \u2013 unusually in one with most trams sold on like this being split before departure \u2013 end up as a home and it remained in use on Wellington Road, Aberdeen until 2013 when it was in the way of a major redevelopment and so needed to be moved.<\/p>\n<p>It was first taken to the Dundee Transport Museum before 2019 saw it move again, this time to the Bus Collection at Alford. And it had remained there for seven years until the time for its restoration to commence arrived.<\/p>\n<p>The group have been lucky in that they have been given money through a bequest to allow the body to be restored. After investigations into the best way that the restoration can take place Stanegate Restorations in Northumberland have been contracted to complete the body restoration.<\/p>\n<p>After preparations over the past few months, Wednesday 15<sup>th<\/sup> April 2026 was the day for the move with local haulier W &amp; W Mackie employed to take the tram down across the border to Northumberland. It was transported in one.
