Light rail safety professionals in the UK will soon have access to more technical guidance notes thanks to a new partnership between LRSSB and the Australian arm of global infrastructure design consultancy ARUP.<\/p>\n

This new collaboration will see 12 documents covering a broad spectrum of critical operational and safety-related topics being produced and shared with LRSSB members in the UK.<\/p>\n
The areas to be covered include operational modelling, incident management, and system performance.<\/p>\n
Craig O\u2019Brien, Head of Engineering Safety and Innovation at LRSSB, said: \u201cThis latest collaboration reflects our strategic objective to build a comprehensive and authoritative library of standards and guidance for UK light rail systems.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo achieve this, we are drawing on international best practice and technical expertise, as well as the experience and knowledge of light rail safety professionals in the UK.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy working with Arup\u2019s specialist team in Australia, we\u2019re now able to leverage global experience and lessons learned from comparable networks operating in different regulatory and operational environments.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis latest partnership demonstrates the LRSSB\u2019s role as a globally connected organisation that can draw on international expertise to support safer, more reliable and more resilient networks for passengers, operators and authorities alike.\u201d<\/p>\n
