Thursday 9th<\/sup> April 2026 saw the first additional stop to open on the South Yorkshire Supertram tram-train line since it originally opened in 2018 with Magna welcoming its very first passengers.<\/p>\n

Located between Meadowhall South and Rotherham Central the stop cost \u00a310.1 million to be built. It includes staggered low-level platforms either side of the tracks along with an accessible footbridge from one side to the other. There is also a 100-space park and ride site complete with cycle parking and electric vehicle charging.<\/p>\n

Providing direct access to the popular Magna Science Adventure Centre, it is also hoped that the stop will strengthen public transport links between Rotherham and Sheffield. It will improve access to two of South Yorkshire\u2019s busiest employment corridors and support wider regeneration ambitions for the Don Valley Corridor.<\/p>\n

The stop will be served by the two services an hour on the tram-train route. On the first day 399 201<\/strong> and 399 202<\/strong> were allocated to work this service.<\/p>\n

Seen from platform 2 is 399 202 as it arrives as the 0905 service to Cathedral (ex-Parkgate at 0859). The background is dominated by a section of the former Templeborough steelworks complex that now houses the Magna Science
