{"id":62594,"date":"2026-04-15T18:00:50","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T17:00:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=62594"},"modified":"2026-04-14T12:56:58","modified_gmt":"2026-04-14T11:56:58","slug":"uktram-trade-trams-session-highlights-innovation-and-collaboration-across-the-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=62594","title":{"rendered":"UKTram Trade &#038; Trams session highlights innovation and collaboration across the sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An online Trade and Trams session took place on 31<sup>st<\/sup> March for UKTram Light Rail Engineering Group (LREG) members where they got together to explore innovation and technical practice across the light rail sector.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>40 people took part in the session where they shared and learnt about new technologies and lessons learned from light rail systems.<\/p>\n<p>Presentations covered many engineering and operational topics, such as how AI and predictive technologies can improve safety, how to optimise assets and manage their lifecycles, along with new ideas for making systems more sustainable and efficient.<\/p>\n<p>There were also updates on infrastructure development, overhead line systems, rail technologies and network performance improvements.
