Work had been taking place on the signalling and pointwork here as part of the plan for a permanent return of services to the original terminus in Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>West Midlands Metro services had last run to St George\u2019s on Friday 6<sup>th<\/sup> February 2026 after which the stop was closed once again to allow these works to take place. At the time of the announcement no end date was given for when the works should be completed but posters stuck up around the worksite said it should be finished by 2<sup>nd<\/sup> March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Although Wolverhampton St George\u2019s has been temporarily reopened on a few occasions over the past few months, there remained some work to be completed to allow a permanent return to the timetable.
