Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been chosen as the West Midlands Metro Charity of the Year 2026. Following in the footsteps of charities including Black Country Women\u2019s Aid, Macmillan Cancer Care, Cancer Research, and Compton Care, they will be supported by a number of fundraising activities throughout the year.<\/p>\n

Staff at West Midlands Metro are hoping to raise significant funds through a range of activities to help keep the charity\u2019s helicopters in the air and it critical care cars responding on the ground. The new partnership reflects Metro\u2019s ongoing commitment to supporting causes which make a real difference across the West Midlands.<\/p>\n
Vicki Bennett, Customer Services Manager at West Midlands Metro, said: \u201cSince 2021, colleagues have nominated and voted for a cause that\u2019s close to their hearts. During that time, we\u2019ve supported Black Country Women\u2019s Aid, Macmillan Cancer Care, Cancer Research and Compton Care.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur teams have organised a wide range of fundraising activities, including raffles, sponsored walks and coffee mornings. Ad hoc donations and funds from unclaimed lost property have also helped boost the total raised. We\u2019re looking forward to using the same approach to support our newly chosen Charity of the Year throughout 2026.\u201d<\/p>\n
