{"id":61941,"date":"2026-02-20T18:00:28","date_gmt":"2026-02-20T18:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=61941"},"modified":"2026-02-15T08:36:37","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T08:36:37","slug":"picture-in-time-leeds-180-blackpool-electric-locomotive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=61941","title":{"rendered":"Picture in Time: Leeds 180 &#038; Blackpool Electric Locomotive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is that time of the week again when we dip into the archives for an edition of \u201cPicture in Time\u201d, and we continue to feature some photos taken at Crich during 1984.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>We are standing outside the depot gates here and <strong>Leeds 180<\/strong> (which this photo seems to show has the 1 and 0 of its fleet number missing) is just waiting at the <strong>Blackpool Electric Locomotive<\/strong> peeks through the open gates as it shunts around the confines of the depot yard.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leeds 180<\/strong> \u2013 which first ran at Crich in 1969 and would enjoy a major overhaul to re-enter service some five years after this photo is taken \u2013 is in much the condition as we are used to today with the familiar Leeds maroon and cream fleet livery. The tram is still a regular performer in service at the museum but did miss the 2025 season.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside is the <strong>Blackpool Electric Locomotive<\/strong> which, at this time, was carrying the earlier red livery.
