After a busy few weeks of trains going for scrap and new trains being delivered, the past seven days have been far quieter on the Tyne and Wear Metro. But that\u2019s not to say that nothing has happened as we have seen the latest Stadler train carry its first passengers.<\/p>\n

555 034<\/strong> is the latest train to enter service with the first reports of being used in anger being Thursday 12th<\/sup> February 2026.<\/p>\n This particular unit was delivered to the Metro on 10th<\/sup> October 2025, with it coming in the same delivery as 555 037<\/strong> and 555 043<\/strong> \u2013 neither of which have yet to be used in service.<\/p>\n This is the 30th<\/sup> of the 46 trains to have been used in service: 555 001<\/strong>–555 021<\/strong>, 555 027<\/strong>, 555 028<\/strong>, 555 031<\/strong>, 555 034<\/strong>, 555 035<\/strong>, 555 038<\/strong>–555 041<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The final three units (555 022<\/strong>, 555 029<\/strong>, 555 046<\/strong>) are expected to be delivered later this month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" After a busy few weeks of trains going for scrap and new trains being delivered, the past seven days have been far quieter on the Tyne and Wear Metro.
