As part of National Apprenticeship Week they have been highlighting opportunities for people to join the team and help shape the future of the tram network.<\/p>\n

With major expansion on the way for the network, the Metro is looking to bring new talent into operations, infrastructure, and rolling stock. At West Midlands Metro apprenticeships aren\u2019t considered as just trainees \u2013 they\u2019re future drivers, engineers, technicians and leaders.<\/p>\n
Clare Pattinson, Human Resources Operations Manager, said: \u201cOur apprenticeship programmes are designed for people who are just starting their careers. You don\u2019t need experience, just curiosity, commitment and the desire to learn. We\u2019ll give you the skills, the support and the qualifications to build a career you can be proud of. We\u2019ve seen so many apprentices grow into confident, skilled professionals. We can\u2019t wait to welcome the next group into the Metro family.\u201d<\/p>\n
Apprentices earn a minimum of \u00a318,000 a year (depending on age) and work towards a Level 3 qualification, with the option to then progress to level 4. Metro also handles college enrolment, so applicants don\u2019t need to be studying yet. The only requirement is that they have a GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.<\/p>\n
