The Tyne and Wear Metro has played a supporting role in a new series of dramas made for the BBC. It was seen in Doppelganger, which was first shown on BBC Three on Sunday 1st<\/sup> February, with film shot on board a train and at St James station.<\/p>\n

Doppelganger is a 15 minute dark comedy about the repercussions of meeting your exact double, while exploring the issues of identity, parental expectations, and the pressures of being compared to other people.<\/p>\n

The Metro appears at the opening of the programme in a series of cinematic camera shots where a red balloon can be seen floating down the escalator at St James Metro station before drifting on board a train.<\/p>\n

The drama is written by Alison Carr and directed by Zak Harney. Its follows Josie, a frayed twenty something who has spent the last decade locked in an escalating feud with her doppelganger \u2013 another woman with the same name, same birthday, and a disturbingly similar life.<\/p>\n
