{"id":61648,"date":"2026-01-28T20:00:40","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T20:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=61648"},"modified":"2026-01-28T19:21:51","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T19:21:51","slug":"east-anglia-transport-museum-announce-2026-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.britishtramsonline.co.uk\/news\/?p=61648","title":{"rendered":"East Anglia Transport Museum announce 2026 events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The East Anglia Transport Museum walked away with the \u201cMuseum\/Heritage Tramway of the Year\u201d at the recent British Trams Online Tram of the Year Awards and they aren\u2019t ones to be resting on their laurels with their 2026 events programme having already been announced.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As is usual with the EATM it\u2019s a diverse programme of events with both new and returning events set to dominate over the course of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Their big event at the end of September will see another change after last year\u2019s London based weekend. 2026 will see a Festival of Transport take place which will celebrate all modes of transport \u2013 old and new! This once again features the late night running on the first day with trams, trolleybuses and the railway operating until 2100. This event takes place on Saturday 26<sup>th<\/sup> (1200-2100) and Sunday 27<sup>th<\/sup> September (1100-1700).<\/p>\n<p>The year kicks off \u2013 on the first day of opening for the season \u2013 with an Easter Treasure Hunt (3<sup>rd<\/sup> to 5<sup>th<\/sup> April 2026), and other returning events will include the rebranded Frights at the Museum (28<sup>th<\/sup>-31<sup>st<\/sup> October) and Ride the Lights (12<sup>th<\/sup>, 13<sup>th<\/sup>, 19<sup>th<\/sup>-22<sup>nd<\/sup> December).<\/p>\n<p>Other events will see Swinging 60s Weekend (16<sup>th<\/sup> and 17<sup>th<\/sup> May), 1940s Weekend (18<sup>th<\/sup> and 19<sup>th<\/sup> July), and Showtime Sundays (2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 9<sup>th<\/sup>, 16<sup>th<\/sup>, 23<sup>rd<\/sup> and 30<sup>th<\/sup> August).<\/p>\n<p>But it won\u2019t all be about special events, as the museum will also be open regularly throughout the season.
