Sunday 23rd<\/sup> November saw the last round of matches in the Quilter Nations Series (formerly known as the Autumn Internationals) with Scotland finishing things off with a comfortable victory against Tonga (56-0). The match once again took place at Murrayfield Stadium and as we\u2019ve come to expect over the past 11 years, Edinburgh Trams were on hand to help move the crowds to and from the match.<\/p>\n

But things nearly didn\u2019t happen as expected this time as flooding on Princes Street meant that no trams were able to travel along the major thoroughfare for a time until the flood waters subsided. During this time services still served Murrayfield but only from Haymarket Yards (from the Newhaven direction) and the Airport. Fortunately, it was possible for a full service to resume around about 1030 and so by the time most of the spectators would have wanted to try and get to the stadium it was business as usual once again!<\/p>\n

Crowds try to squeeze on board 275 as it was Airport and Murrayfield bound when seen at St. Andrew Square. Kick-off was just over an hour away when this photo was taken and so the anticipation of the match would be building, but the good news is that these fans shouldn\u2019t be too long away from getting into the stadium.<\/p><\/div>\n

The weather was rather cold and dismal (perfect weather for rugby!) as we see 277 in its Scottish Rugby advert as its caught on York Place between the stops at Picardy Place and St Andrew Square en route from Newhaven to the Airport, of course going via Murrayfield.<\/p><\/div>\n

We then see 254 (UniQlo advert) at Picardy Place. It too will be able to take more passengers to rugby with it working another service to the Airport. We take a look at the rear of the tram here with St Mary\u2019s Catholic Cathedral and St James Quarter to the left.
