Whereas last time they returned to the original Wolverhampton terminus it was always due to be temporary, this time it\u2019s a permanent return ahead of the opening of phase one of the Eastside extension to Millennium Point.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The service to Wolverhampton St George\u2019s resumed on Monday 17<sup>th<\/sup> November and the service on the network follows the same pattern as when there was a temporary return earlier in the autumn.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday to Saturday<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start of service to 0700 \u2013 trams every 15 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Edgbaston Village<\/li>\n<li>0700-1900 \u2013 trams every 15 minutes from Wolverhampton St George\u2019s to Edgbaston Village, and every 15 minutes from Wolverhampton Station to Edgbaston Village. Combined this will see trams up to every 8 minutes between The Royal and Edgbaston Village.<\/li>\n<li>1900 to end of service \u2013 trams every 15 minutes between Wolverhampton Station and Edgbaston Village<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sunday<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Trams every 12 minutes from Wolverhampton Station to Edgbaston Village.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wolverhampton St George\u2019s\u00a0 will not be served by trams before 0700 and after 1900 Monday-Saturday, or at any time on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Looking further ahead and there will be more changes to the tram service \u201csoon\u201d. This will be to start the training of drivers on the Birmingham Eastside extension to new stops at Albert Street and Millennium Point. During this period, passengers may be asked (on some services) to alight from trams at Bull Street to allow drivers to head onto the extension. The trams would then re-enter service at Corporation Street. More information on these changes will follow closer to the time.<\/p>\n<p>Anthony Stanley, West Midlands Metro\u2019s Head of Operations and Safety, said: \u201cThe new timetable will see alternate services between the two stops and marks another important milestone in our journey towards future expansion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith services to Millennium Point on the Birmingham Eastside extension fast approaching, reopening St George\u2019s helps lay the groundwork for even more stops and evolving travel patterns.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese enhancements to infrastructure and services reflect our ongoing commitment to sustainability and reducing car dependency across the region and we\u2019re really looking forward to welcoming customers back to St George\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>West Midlands Metro services are once again travelling to Wolverhampton St George\u2019s following the completion of upgrade works.
