A series of site visits by members of the LRSSB has enabled operators to review their individual SRMs using the latest incident data collected using the LRSSB\u2019s Tramway Accident and Incident Reporting system (TAIR).<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Head of Safety Risk Management at the LRSSB, Laura Reardon, commented: \u201cThe sector\u2019s commitment to the reporting system since the last review has delivered a significant boost for the process, enabling networks to make even more informed decisions based on the data from TAIR.\u00a0The reviews also provide the networks an opportunity to take into account changes to their systems, such as extensions, as well as measures they\u2019ve recently taken to enhance safety for customers, employees and the wider public.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201ctour\u201d kicked off over the summer and workshops have already been held with representatives in Blackpool, Edinburgh, and the West Midlands. The LRSSB expect to visit the remaining four systems over the winter.<\/p>\n<p>Laura added: \u201cAs a result, by the spring of 2026, we should have completed fully updated SRMs for all seven networks, enabling operators and owners to develop their safety strategies, while we will also have an updated, sector-wide model that will help to shape the LRSSB\u2019s future priorities.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Light Rail Safety and Standards Board (LRSSB) have been undertaking a \u201cnational tour\u201d to help networks drive further safety enhancements informed by a new safety risk model (SRM).
